Christy in Portugal

I taught vegan cooking classes for 15 years, then I immigrated to Europe.

I do freelance digital marketing remotely, lead wellness retreats in Portugal and organise small group trips for remote workers. Here is where you’ll find my travel blog, vegan recipes, ramblings about life and how to join me on a travel experience around the world.

about Christy

This is the short version.

Health and wellness

Living a healthful lifestyle has always been important. The trifecta of nutrition, fitness and mind/body approaches is my method.

Vegan

Vegan for over 20 years; this is a big part of my life. You’ll find years of recipes on this website and tips on how to travel as a vegan.

Radical

I’ve always lived on my terms shying away from traditional thinking. I’ll share more of my ideas on this blog soon!

I tantalised taste buds for over 15 years as a natural foods chef, cooking instructor, author, yoga teacher and fitness coach. My mission has always been to show that a plant-based diet and lifestyle can be delicious & easy, and will bring more energy and bliss into your life, all while helping the planet.

My business pre-pandemic included healthy cooking classes, lectures and cooking demos, private instruction in people’s homes, consulting and corporate team building, personalized fitness programs and personal training along with public and private yoga classes. I lead wellness retreats all over the world.

Now I teach in Portugal, plan trips for singles who don’t want to travel alone and offer wellness retreats for those wanting a refreshing break from the hustle of life. You can work with me for fitness coaching, anywhere in the world!

I’ve parted ways with my previous brand The Blissful (& Fit) Chef. I’m not the same blissful person I used to be. I’ve gotten older and wiser (and more radical!). That will happen in your 40s I suppose. I’ve created a new life in Portugal and want to share this beautiful country with others.

On this website is my blog, a place I ramble and share what is on my mind. I’ve got so much to say. Also, I will continue to write travel blogs and fill in the missing gaps of places I visited in the last few years I never wrote a blog about. I look forward to writing again. It’s been too long my friends.

Travel Experiences

Never travel alone…

Vegan Recipes

The only real stumbling block is fear of failure. In cooking, you’ve got to have a what-the-hell attitude…

one of my favorite Julia Child quotes. Vegan cooking can be a snap with the right tools. While I haven’t updated the recipe section of my blog in ages, all the content is still there for you to enjoy!

Vegan Travel Blog

I’ve traveled to 63 countries, mostly solo. I love sharing my travel journey. Many of these travel logs happened pre-pandemic so some of the info is outdated. I’ll add new travel blogs soon.

Nov 2016

For two and a half years, I slow-traveled around the world.

Sometimes I stayed in one city for a month, or took an entire month to explore a country. South American was a highlight, where I spent a month in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru.

Nov 2023

More recently, I’m traveling close to home around Europe.

I need to write these blogs soon. I’ve been to Finland, Estonia, Poland, Netherlands, Italy, Morocco and more.
